Memorial Day. What does it mean to you? Is it just a day off of work? Is it the first official weekend of camping in this great state? Is it the official kick off to summer?
Memorial Day can be all of those things. However, Memorial Day is a day on which those who died in active military service are remembered This day is also a day we remember those around us who have passed. We also want to remember those who have served our country and also those who provide service to us, police, military, fire, etc.
On Saturday, May 25th MSPS hosted the First Annual Memorial Day Smash raising money for a local veteran to get started at MSPS. Together we raised $350 toward a veteran getting started in our community!
What was this whole Smash Workout? Two workouts were offered, both of which were challenging and fun. The whole idea behind this workout was to be challenging, but most of all for everyone to have fun, no matter where you are at in your journey.
The workout began with a quick group warm up, and thankfully the weather worked in our favor we were able to get outside for the running!
10 Rounds with a 45 min cap.
As a team we collectively averaged about 6 rounds.
Run to the end of the street or to King Street (walk, jog, whatever you want to do)
10 Box Jumps or step ups
15 Push ups
20 Air Squats
25 Full Sit Ups or crunches
As a Coach and friend to all of you, I can not say “THANK YOU” enough. Twenty people attended the workout, and others who were unable to make the workout donated! It is amazing to me the amount of support and how blessed I am to have you all in my life.
We will continue to do fun events such as this to give back to the community and also get MSPS out there showing how much fun we really are!
And, incase you missed it, did you see Jane get her first 3 pull ups at this event??!! Another huge accomplishment! I am so proud!
